Our approach is positive, reward-rich, and tailored to each dog, built on the simple idea that confident dogs learn faster and make better choices. While we offer custom private lessons, Day Train days, and Play & Train add-ons, our primary focus is our progressive, high-success Group Class Academy designed to build real-world skills in a social environment.

Start your puppy off on the right paw. Focused on early socialization, confidence building, giving owners the foundations of effective training, and growing stronger manners and impulse control as your pup grows. Begins with a humans-only orientation night.

The final level of the Academy. Prepares dogs for real-world situations and the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluation, included in the cost of this class.

Do you offer group dog training classes or private lessons?
Both, and group classes are the heart of the Academy. Our progressive group curriculum runs from Puppy Etiquette through The Distinguished Dog, including preparation for the AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluation. Private lessons and Day Train are available when your dog needs one-on-one attention or a faster pace.
When does the group class season run in Harrisburg and Sioux Falls?
Our 2026 group class season runs April through October. Spots are limited and classes fill quickly, so we recommend calling ahead at 605-214-5597 to reserve your dog's place in an upcoming session.
What training methods do you use?
We use play-based, positive reinforcement training focused on real-life skills. Every class rewards the behavior you want instead of punishing the behavior you don't, and we meet each dog where they are so training stays fun, low stress, and effective at home, on walks, and around other people and dogs.
What is Day Train and how does it work with daycare?
Day Train is a full day of focused training with our trainer. You drop off between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM and pick up between 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM, and your dog works on skills throughout the day. You can add daycare to a Day Train package for extra social time, which is a favorite for busy pet parents who want progress without homework-heavy evenings.
Can my dog earn the AKC Canine Good Citizen certification here?
Yes. Our upper-level group classes prepare dogs for the AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluation, covering polite greetings, loose-leash walking, staying calm around distractions, and supervised separation, all skills the CGC test measures.
What age can puppies start training classes?
Puppies can begin our Puppy Etiquette class as soon as they have started their vaccine series, and most families start between 8 and 16 weeks. Upper-level group classes generally begin at 5 months or older. Current vaccinations are required for every class.
Do you serve dog owners outside Harrisburg?
Yes. Our Training Academy sits at 659 W Willow Street in Harrisburg, SD, just minutes south of Sioux Falls. Families from Sioux Falls, Tea, Brandon, Hartford, Renner, Lennox, and Worthing train with us regularly.
Can training help with pulling, jumping, or reactivity?
Those are the everyday challenges our curriculum is built around. Group classes work on loose-leash walking, polite greetings, and focus around distractions in a controlled setting. For dogs who need more space or a customized plan, a private lesson is the best starting point and we'll recommend the right path after your consultation.
